ACTIVATE command

Used to add a set of field definitions stored in an ACL workspace to the existing set of fields for the active ACL table.

Syntax

ACTIVATE <WORKSPACE> workspace_name <OK>

Parameters

WORKSPACE workspace_name

The name of the workspace to activate. You can omit the WORKSPACE keyword from this parameter.

OK

Optional. Specifies that if there is a field in the table with an identical name to one in the activated workspace, it will be overwritten without confirmation. You cannot replace any field that is referenced by a computed field.

Remarks

The ACTIVATE command makes workspace field definitions available to the active table. Once you activate a workspace, its fields remain available for use with the active table until you close the table.

If you edit the table layout after you activate a workspace, or make a change that causes the table layout to be saved, ACL permanently adds the workspace fields to the table layout. Once the workspace fields are saved in the table layout, you can use the DEFINE COLUMN command to add them to a view, and then use the SAVE command to save your changes.

Examples

a. Activate a workspace in your ACL project:

ACTIVATE WORKSPACE ComplexFormulas OK

b. Activate a workspace saved as a file (.wsp) in the same folder as your ACL project.

ACTIVATE WORKSPACE ComplexFormulas.WSP OK
