PASSWORD n

Specifies the password to use. If a password was required to import data from the data source when the table was defined, the password will also be require to refresh the table.

Remarks

You can use the REFRESH command to update the contents of a tables created using any of the IMPORT commands. The one exception is that password-protected Microsoft Excel data imported using the IMPORT ODBC cannot be refreshed.

The REFRESH command updates the contents of existing fields only. If the table layout of the source data changes, you must reimport the data.

Examples

If a password is not require for the data source, you can enter the REFRESH command and the name of the ACL table to update.

REFRESH Invoices

Depending on the type of script you are creating, there are different options for specifying the required password in your script.

If you are creating an interactive script, you can prompt the user for the password:

PASSWORD 1 “Enter your password:”
REFRESH Invoices PASSWORD 1

You can set the password in your script if you do now want to prompt the user for the value:

SET PASSWORD 1 TO "password"
REFRESH Invoices PASSWORD 1

If you are creating an AX Server analytic, you can prompt the user for the value when the analytic is scheduled:

COMMENT
//ANALYTIC Refresh Table
//PASSWORD 1 "Enter your password:"
END
REFRESH Invoices PASSWORD 1
