UPPER( ) function

Returns a string with alphabetic characters converted to uppercase.

Syntax

UPPER(string)

Parameters

string

Character. The value to convert to uppercase.

Output

Character.

Remarks

You can use this function whenever you want to ensure that all characters in a field, variable, or expression have consistent casing. This is particularly important when you are comparing values. It can also be used for formatting values in reports as uppercase text.
