RESULT

The RESULT tag is used to identify items that will be returned as results after the analytic runs. The specified results are copied into the generated results folder in the activity where the analytic is located.

Syntax

//RESULT type name
  <description>
type

Specifies the type of result to return. The following types can be specified:

  • Table – The result is an ACL data file.

  • Log – The result is an ACL project log.

  • File – The result is an arbitrary file.

name

The meaning of name depends on the result type specified:

  • If Table is specified, name is the ACL identifier for the table.

    You can also use wildcard characters to select tables where part of the table name may change. For example, if the table name depends on the month (invoices-jan, invoices-feb, etc.) you can specify invoices-* to select the tables.

  • If Log is specified, name is the filename of the log file. If the name value is blank, the default project log is returned.

  • If File is specified, name is the filename of the file to include.

    You can also use wildcard characters as all or part of the filename to select all files with a specific extension (*.xls), or files where part of the filename may change. For example, if the filename depends on the month (invoices-jan.xls, invoices-feb.xls, etc.) you can specify invoices-*.xls to select the files.

description

Optional. Descriptive text about the result or other information. The description can be multiline, but it cannot skip lines.

Example

The following example shows result definitions that return the default project log, an ACL table, and all Excel (.xls) files.

//RESULT LOG
//RESULT TABLE MissingChecks
//RESULT FILE *.xls
