Analyzing data

Analyzing is the process of finding answers to questions about data. ACL provides several options for analyzing data. Choose from one or more of the operations described in Table 1, depending on the type of analysis you want to perform.

Use Profile to determine the minimum, maximum, absolute, and total field values.

Statistics

Numeric or Datetime

Use Statistics to get an overview of a data set before performing detailed analysis. Generates descriptive statistics, such as totals, zeros, highest and lowest values, on numeric or datetime fields.

Histogram

Numeric or Character

Use Histogram to create a visual representation of how a data set is distributed across multiple intervals. Displays the distribution of data, based on a value or expression.

Benford

Numeric

Use Benford analysis to detect possible anomalies in large data sets. Counts the number of times each leading digit or digit combination occurs in the data.
