Reports generated by ACL are based primarily on the formatting of data and columns in views. You can customize views by adding or removing columns, filtering and sorting data, and assigning a unique name to each view. The properties of each column in the view can also be modified to customize how individual values are formatted in the report, to specify what text is used in the column title, and to configure various settings that determine how rows of data are displayed on the report. All of these settings are saved with the view.
When you generate a report for the first time, you can specify a number of additional properties, such as line spacing, header and footer text, and the report output type. These properties are saved with the ACL project when the project is saved.
The output of reports is also affected by global application settings in ACL in two areas:
You can modify the fonts used in printed reports by modifying the font settings for the view using the Change Font command in the toolbar.
You can modify the ACL table information appended to reports, and modify margin settings for printed reports in the Print tab in the Options dialog box.
