For example, you can create a project item list to display all tables. When a user runs the script they will be prompted to select the appropriate table from the list of tables in their ACL project before the script can analyze their data. This gives the script writer the flexibility to write scripts that can work with multiple tables, and it allows the user to run a customized script on their table without needing to edit the script.

To add a project item list:

  1. In the Dialog Builder, click Project Item List and then click the form location where you want to place the top left corner of the control.
  2. In the Project Item List dialog box, select items from the Category drop-down list and add them to the Category List by clicking Add.
  3. Enter the name of the variable which will contain the selected value in the Variable text box.
  4. Enter an item from the Category List in the Default text box to specify the default value of the variable.
  5. If you want to specify the exact position of the control, modify the value in the X text box to change the horizontal position of the control and/or the Y text box to change the vertical position of the control.
  6. If you want to change the size of the control deselect the Auto checkboxes beside the Height and/or Width text boxes and modify the values, which are specified in pixels.
