You can update the contents of an ACL table with the current contents of the source data file, without needing to redefine the table layout. An ACL table can be updated whenever necessary, as long as there are no changes to the layout of the data file. Data from the following data sources can be updated using the Refresh from Source option:
Delimited text, Microsoft Access, Microsoft Excel, Adobe Acrobat (PDF), Print Image (Report), SAP private file format/DART, and XML files. Data files cannot be updated if a password is required for file types that can be password protected.
ODBC data sources. In order to update a table that is password protected, you must provide the correct password.
To update a table:
- Complete the following steps to update
a table in the Table Layout dialog box:
- Open the table you want to update.
- Select .
- Select the Table Layout Options tab.
- Click Refresh from Source File
. - Click Yes in the confirmation dialog box.
- Complete the following steps to update a table in the Overview tab
in the Project Navigator:
- Right-click the table you want to update and select Refresh from Source.
- Click Yes in the confirmation dialog box.
