Creating new ACL projects

You can create as many ACL projects as you need. ACL projects provide a way to group all of the data and processing associated with a data analysis project. The data analysis completed in ACL is recorded in the ACL log from the time the project is created.

When you create a new project, you should typically create a new Windows folder to store all of the ACL project files and, where necessary, the data files you project will use. You may also want to create additional subfolders to store results from analysis steps performed in ACL or data files you extract from ACL.

To create a new project:

  1. Do one of the following:
    • Select File > New > Project.

    • If the Welcome tab is displayed in the display area, click the Create a new project link.

  2. In the Save New Project As dialog box, select the folder to save the file in and enter a filename, and then click Save.

    The new ACL project is created and the Data Definition Wizard is displayed. The wizard is used to create ACL tables to display your data on screen. You can proceed through the wizard, or click Cancel if you do not want to define a table.
