Exporting log entries

You can export ACL log entries, or the entire contents of the log, to several different file formats. You can also export the log commands to an new ACL script in your current project.

To export log entries:

  1. Click the Log tab in the Project Navigator.
  2. Select the checkbox beside each log item you want to export. You can select individual log entries, sessions, or date ranges. If you select date ranges or sessions all of the sub-entries are selected.
  3. Right-click in the Log tab and select Save Selected Items > [Export Type] where Export Type is one of the following options:
    • HTML – The log entries are exported to an HTML file (.htm). You need to specify the file name and location in the Save HTML File As dialog box and click Save.

    • Log File – The log entries are exported to a new ACL log file (.log). You need to specify the file name and location in the Save Log File As dialog box and click Save.

    • Script – The log entries are exported to a new ACL script in your project. You need to specify the name for the script in the Save Script As dialog box and click OK.

    • Wordpad – The log entries are exported to a temporary new file in Wordpad. To save the file permanently, you need to save the file with a new filename in a new folder location in Wordpad.

    • Text – The log entries are exported to a new text file. You need to specify the file name and location in the Save Text File As dialog box and click Save.
