Verifying converted analytics

After you convert analytics to process Unicode data, you need to verify that the Unicode versions of the analytics produce results that are identical to the results produced by the non-Unicode analytics. The best way to compare the results produced by the analytics is to use a Diff tool to compare the log files produced in the analysis. The Diff tool detects and identifies any differences between the files you are comparing.

If you cannot produce the same results with the Unicode version of an analytic as the non-Unicode version, you may be able to isolate the problem by comparing the log outputs of the scripts at each step of the analysis.

You can use the Eclipse editor, or download Notepad 2 from www.notepad2.com, if you need a text editor that allows you to display and edit both non-Unicode and Unicode data. If you need a Diff tool to compare files you can download Beyond Compare from www.scootersoftware.com.
