SAVE command

Used to create a copy of an ACL table and save it with a different name, or to save an ACL project.

Syntax

To create a copy of an ACL table and save it with a different name:

SAVE new_table FORMAT ACL_table

To save changes to the current project:

SAVE

Parameters

new_table

The name of the new ACL table to create and save.

FORMAT ACL_table

The name of the existing ACL table. Use the name of the table layout, not the name of an associated data file.

Remarks

The SAVE . . . FORMAT command produces a result similar to copying and pasting an ACL table in the Overview tab in the Navigator: a new ACL table is created and associated to the same data file or data source as the original table. If required, you can link the newly created table to a different data source.

At certain points, ACL automatically prompts you to save changes to the current project. To avoid interruptions in the execution of scripts, you can use the SAVE command to save changes before ACL prompts you to save them.

Example

The following example creates a new table called Payables_March, based on the existing table Payables_master.

SAVE Payables_March FORMAT Payables_master

The Payables_March table could then be linked to the March payables data file.
