Searching data to isolate all matching records

You can search an ACL table by creating a filter that isolates all records that match the filter criteria. You use an ACL function to create the filter. Different functions allow you to create different types of filters.

For a summary of the different functions you can use for searching, see About searching data. For a comparison of the features of ACL search functions, see A comparison of ACL search methods.

To search an ACL table for the first matching record, see Searching data for the first matching record.

Note

For straightforward searches, such as exactly matching, or partially matching, a particular value, you may find using the quick searching, quick filtering, or standard filtering features are an easier way to achieve your goal. For more information, see About quick searching, About quick filters, and About global filters (view filters).
