Customizing the Script Editor

You can customize the Script Editor by enabling or disabling word wrap, by changing the text colors and fonts, and by changing the background color of the editing area. Keyword auto-completion and on-screen help for function parameters cannot be disabled.

The following types of text can be customized:

To customize the Script Editor:

  1. To enable or disable word wrapping, click Word Wrap  in the Script Editor toolbar.
  2. To change the background color or text styles in the Script Editor, do the following:
    1. Select Tools > Options.
    2. Click the Application Font tab.
      Note

The fixed-width and proportional font settings on the Application Font tab apply to all application fonts, not only to the fonts in the Script Editor.

    3. In the Script Editor Settings area, select Background Color or the text style you want to change and click Change Color.
    4. In the Color dialog box, select a color from the Basic colors area or from the color palette. Or, if you know the Red, Green, and Blue (RGB) values of the color you want to use, enter them in the appropriate text boxes.
    5. Click OK.
  3. To make a text style bold or italic, select the appropriate style and do the following:
    1. To bold the selected style, select Bold.
    2. To italicize the selected style, select Italic.
  4. Click OK.

If you want to revert to the background color and text styles used when ACL was first installed, click Factory at the bottom of the Options dialog box. Clicking Factory sets all options on all Options tabs to their default settings, not just the background color and text styles in the Script Editor.
