Upgrading Add-In for Excel

Close all Windows applications including MS Excel, download the installer from Launchpad, and then run the installation package.

Note

If you have previously installed the Analytics Exchange Add-ins for Microsoft Office or ACL Acerno, the products will be uninstalled and any saved installation setting will be displayed as defaults in the Add-In for Excel setup wizard.

Download the Add-In for Excel installer

From the computer you plan to install the application on:

  1. Sign in to Launchpad (www.highbond.com).
  2. Click Download.
  3. Click Add-In for Excel.
  4. Click Download Version versionNumber.

Extract the installer and install the prerequisites

  1. Double-click the installation package and if a security warning dialog box appears, verify the information listed and click Yes.
  2. Choose the setup language and click OK.
  3. In the Setup Extraction Location page, specify the folder where the installation files will be extracted, and click Extract.

    Click Browse to select a folder, or accept the default location. The setup files are extracted to the destination folder you specified.

    Note

    After the files are extracted the setup wizard starts automatically. If the setup wizard fails to start automatically for any reason, you can use Windows Explorer to navigate to the folder where the setup files were extracted and double-click setup.exe.

  4. If you are prompted to install prerequisites, click Install. After the prerequisites are installed, the installer automatically proceeds.
  5. When the prompt appears asking if you want to continue with the upgrade, click Yes.

Install Add-In for Excel

  1. On the Welcome page, click Next, select I accept the terms in the license agreement, and then click Next.
  2. On the Destination Folder page, complete the following fields and then click Next:

    Accept the default installation location for the program files or click Change to choose a different location.

    Skip settingsSkips Analytics Exchange connection settings for organizations not using Analytics Exchange.

    If you are using Analytics Exchange with Add-In for Excel, clear this checkbox and complete the following fields.

    Note

    If your organization does not use Analytics Exchange or if you are unsure of the values to enter, leave the Skip settings checkbox selected. You can use the setup wizard repair option to add or modify these values at a later date. For more information, see Repair the Add-In for Excel installation.

    Server nameThe IP address or host name of the server where AX Server is located on the network.

    Note

    This field is not required unless you clear the Skip settings checkbox and intend on using Analytics Exchange.

    Port

    The port to use to communicate with AX Server.

    The default value is 443. Enter the default value unless your Analytics Exchange administrator instructs you to enter a different port number.

  3. In the Ready to Install the Program page, click Install and once the installation completes, click Finish.
