Maintaining AX Server
AX Server administrators handle security, database, and application server configuration tasks.
AX Server security
AX Server handles sensitive data that needs to be kept secure. Consider the following questions when administering security:
- Who has access to ACL GRC Analytics Exchange and the data stored on AX Server? For information about user access, see Users and roles.
- How do users access ACL GRC Analytics Exchange? For information about authentication, see ACL GRC Analytics Exchange authentication.
- How is ACL GRC Analytics Exchange data protected? For data and general AX Server security recommendations, see AX Server security.
Database management
Depending on your organization's configuration, your AX Server database is an instance of the one of the following servers:
- PostgreSQL: for more information, see Managing the database on PostgreSQL
- Oracle: for more information, see Managing the database on Oracle
Windows services management
AX Server uses three Windows services to perform most of the application functions on the server: Analytics Exchange Service, Analytics Exchange Connector, and Analytics Exchange Database.
For more information, see AX Server Windows services.
Apache TomEE management
Apache TomEE runs the AX Server components for AX Web Client, AX Server, and AX Engine Node. The Analytics Exchange Service Windows service runs the TomEE application server.
For more information, see Managing the Apache TomEE service.
