To upgrade AX Server for PostgreSQL, upgrade your database server and then upgrade AX Server.

Upgraded and existing database services
Depending on your version Analytics Exchange, the upgrade installer may upgrade your version of PostgreSQL. When the PostgreSQL database server is upgraded, a Windows service is added for the new version and the old Windows PostgreSQL service is disabled.
Do not enable and start the service for the old version of PostgreSQL.
