Offboarding users

When an individual user leaves your organization, you must remove the user account from AX Client and then reschedule any analytics that are currently scheduled under the removed user's name.

Where do I remove users from my organization?

Available licenses and individual user access are managed on AX Server directly.

Note

In general, Analytics products are licensed and activated through an organization on Launchpad, however as some Analytics Exchange implementations run without access to the Internet, user accounts are managed on AX Server instead.

Once you remove the user, you can disable the user's Active Directory account as part of your corporate offboarding process.

What happens to the user's scheduled analytics?

The user that schedules an analytic or analytic chain must have the following when the scheduled job runs:

  • a valid Active Directory account
  • permission to run the script on AX Server

If the user that scheduled the job does not fulfill both of these conditions, the scheduled job fails. Therefore, when you remove a user from the application, you must also reschedule any pending jobs that the user scheduled.

    1. Select View > Job Status and on the Job Status pane, click Scheduled Analytic Jobs.
    2. Click Show all Scheduled Analytics and then sort the table on the Scheduled By column.
    3. For each scheduled job, select the job, click Edit, reset the schedule, and then click Schedule.
