Structuring audit content

AX Server provides enough flexibility to replicate your current method of structuring audit content while also providing a base level of structure and security you can use as a foundation for developing a more structured approach.

How it works

You can provide direct access to audit data in the Working directory so that any auditor can quickly and easily work with analytics and tables. However, if you want to secure sensitive data or add a layer of control to your process, you can also use linking from the Library to the Working directory to provide granular, read-only access to specific individuals.

Example: annual general ledger audit

You are a data specialist and your organization is undertaking an annual general ledger audit and you are tasked with organizing the audit content on AX Server.

Option 1: single collection

You use a single collection in the Working directory to house all content related to the annual general ledger audit. All auditors work in this single collection and the items are all standalone items.

You use folders to organize the items by staff auditor and grant folder permissions as appropriate.

Option 2: two collections with linked items

You use a collection in the Library to centrally control all content related to the annual general ledger audit. You then create a second collection in the Working directory with folders for each staff auditor.

The folders contain linked items that the specific auditor needs access to, but the master items are maintained in the Library.
