Pre-installation tasks

Before you begin the installation or upgrade, ensure that you have reviewed the information and completed any necessary pre-installation tasks.

Caution

If you install AX Server or AX Engine Node on Windows Server 2012 R2, you must install the KB2919355 Windows Update first.

If you do not install the Windows update first, your AX Server or AX Engine Node installation cannot succeed.

  1. Gather internal and Diligent installation resources. See Gathering installation resources
  2. Verify that all server and client computers that you plan to use meet the system requirements. See System requirements
  3. Make sure you have a valid Launchpad account (www.highbond.com) with the appropriate permissions (required for download and activation)
  4. Check the availability of the ports required by AX Server. See AX Server ports
  5. Implement the AX Server security recommendations. See AX Server security
  6. Download Analytics Exchange installers. See Download the Analytics Exchange installers
