Organizing audit content
AX Server provides two repositories for storing data: the Library and the Working directory. Each of these repositories is further organized into Collections and Folders.
Collections are the top level of organization in both the Working directory and Library of AX Server. Each collection contains one or more folders. Use collections and folders to organize audit content in whatever manner best suits your business processes.
The Library
Use the Library to store long term or permanent audit content that needs to be made available to some or all of your audit team on an ongoing basis.
The Library is only accessible to Administrators unless Users are granted access to specific Collections and Folders.
The Working directory
Use the Working directory to store audit items associated with current collections, programs, or assignments. You can then use folders to organize by categories that make sense to your organization, such as segregation of duties or audit stage.
Tip
Organize your Working directory by quarter, region, type of audit, or any other high-level principle that makes sense to your department.

Folder contents
Folders contain the following audit items that are imported into AX Server or created by analytics:
- Analytics projects projects imported from Analytics
- the Analysis Apps sub-folder one or more analytics imported with an Analytics project
- the Data sub-folder table layouts associated with source data on AX Server or elsewhere
- the Related Files sub-folder files of any type supported by your operating system
- the Results sub-folder analytic input files, results output tables, analytic log files
Note
Results sub-folders are only created if a collection with existing results is archived and restored, an analytic with results is deleted or overwritten, or if one or more results sub-folders are created in Add-In for Excel.
Sorting audit content
Collections and folders are sorted in alphanumeric order. Use the following naming conventions to help organize your audit items:
- preface names with values that allow easy insertion of future items, such as A01_, A_02, B_01, B_02
- preface less frequently used item names with xxx_ so they appear lower in the sort order
- preface archived item names with zzz_ so they appear at the bottom of the sort order
