Creating a SPN account

A Service Principal Name account is a Windows user account that is used to uniquely link the ACL Analytics Exchange authentication service to the Active Directory Domain Controller server.

To create a Service Principal Name account:

  1. Select Start > All Programs > Administrative Tools > Active Directory Users and Computers.
  2. Select the domain entry in the treeview where you want to create the new SPN account.
  3. Right-click and select New > User.
  4. Enter the requested user information and click Next.
  5. Enter the password for the account, deselect User must change password at next logon, select Password never expires and click Next.
  6. Click Finish.
