Installing self-signed security certificates in Internet Explorer
To avoid encountering certificate error messages when accessing the ACL Analytics Exchange web applications or AX Client, you can install the self-signed security certificate in Internet Explorer. This task needs to be completed on each computer used to access one or more of the ACL Analytics Exchange client applications. The self-signed security certificate is created by the AX Server setup wizard during installation of AX Server.
If you have configured a certificate from a Certificate Authority (CA), such as VeriSign, on AX Server you do not need to complete this configuration.
To install the self-signed certificate in Internet Explorer:
- Open a web browser and navigate to one of the ACL Analytics Exchange web applications:
-
The AX Server Configuration address is https://<server_name>/aclconfig
-
The AX Web Client address (if installed) is https://<server_name>/aclax
You must specify the <server_name> as the hostname of the server. For example: https://ax.acl.com/aclconfig
-
- Click Continue to this website (not recommended).
- Click the Certificate Error button next to the browser address bar.
- Click the View certificates link.
- In the Certificate dialog box, click Install Certificate.
- Complete the following steps in the Certificate
Import Wizard:
- In the Welcome page, click Next.
- Select Place all certificates in the following store, and click Browse.
- In Select Certificate Store, select Trusted Root Certification Authorities and click OK.
- Click Next.
- Click Finish to import the certificate.
- In the Security Warning dialog box, click Yes to install the certificate.
- Click OK in the confirmation dialog box to complete the wizard.
- Click OK to close the Certificate dialog box.
- Restart Internet Explorer and navigate to the one of
the ACL Analytics Exchange web applications.
If the certificate is configured correctly, the web application log in page will load without displaying the certificate error page.
