Import ACL projects and related files into AX Server into a target folder to add content to the Working directory or Library. Once you import an ACL project, it becomes an analysis app and you can schedule or run any analytic scripts it contains.
Note
To import items, you must have Full permissions for the destination folder.
When you import an ACL project from a previous version, the project items are automatically converted to the currently installed version. Any exported items are part of a currently installed version project.
To add content to AX Server, you must import it from your local computer or a network location into a target folder in the Library or Working directory using AX Client. You can import:
For information about importing analysis apps and ACL projects, see Importing and exporting analytics.
When you import a project into a target folder, project items are imported into specific sub-folders:
| Sub-folder | Item(s) | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Analysis Apps |
|
The ACL project must contain one or more analytic scripts. To import related files along with your project, you must select the project and each file using Ctrl+click. Note If you import a non-Unicode ACL project or analysis app into a Unicode AX Server instance, it is converted to Unicode. However, if you import a Unicode ACL project or analysis app into a non-Unicode AX Server instance, an error occurs. For help converting a Unicode project to non-Unicode before importing, contact ACL Support Services. |
| Data | project tables |
Once a project with tables is imported, the tables no longer maintain a programmatic association with the project. All tables in the project are copied to the Data sub-folder. You can also import any source .fil data files associated with the tables, and the Properties tab identifies whether or not the source data was imported with the table. Note When importing an ACL project or analysis app, imported tables overwrite identically named tables in the destination folder’s Data sub-folder. If an imported table has an associated source data file, the overwritten table’s data file is also overwritten. |
| Related Files | files of any type supported by your operating system and allowed by the Analytics Exchange file extension whitelist |
Project log files are not imported with the project. To import a log file into the Related Files sub-folder, you must select it along with the project. The maximum related file size is 2 GB. |
Note
To import related items such as .xlsx or .csv files simultaneously with an ACL project, use Ctrl+click to select the project file and the related files.
Leave this deselected to exclude standalone or shared tables of the same name as a linked table from the import.
If an item already exists in the import destination, click Yes in the Replace dialog box to overwrite the item, or No to cancel the import of that particular item.
Note
The overwriting of identically named tables and data files occurs whether or not the Replace dialog box appears. The Replace dialog box appears in the event of identically named projects. It does not appear in the event of identically named tables imported with uniquely named projects.
