Table type
Description
Standalone table
A table layout with a source data file in AX Server.
The Data source property in the table Summary tab states Data source is managed by ACL Analytics Exchange Server.
Master table
A standalone table that is linked to by one or more linked tables.
The Linked (#) property in the table Summary tab displays the number of tables linked to the master table, and lists the linked table file paths.
Linked table
A shortcut that links to a master table.
The Master property in the table Summary tab displays the file path for the master table to which the linked table points.
Shared table
Two or more table layouts that share the same source data file in AX Server.
Shared tables use the same icon as standalone tables. They are distinguished from standalone tables by having the Other Shared Tables (#) property in the table Summary tab, which displays the number of additional tables that share the same source data file, and lists the file paths of the additional tables.
Standalone layout
A table layout without a source data file in AX Server.
The Data source property in the table Summary tab states No data source is associated with this data definition.
Master layout
A standalone layout that is linked to by one or more linked layouts.
The Linked (#) property in the table Summary tab displays the number of layouts linked to the master layout, and lists the linked layout file paths.
Linked layout
A shortcut that links to a master layout.
The Master property in the table Summary tab displays the file path for the master layout to which the linked layout points.
Broken link
A linked table or layout that no longer links to a master table or layout.
The Master property in the table Summary tab states Link to the master is broken. The master may have been deleted or the permissions may have changed.
