Editing or deleting a message

You can edit messages after they have been sent, to correct mistakes, update information, or delete them.

Note

  • A default period of three minutes is set to edit or delete a message after it is sent. To increase the time window for your Boards site, contact your Customer Success Manager.

  • Edited messages are marked as such in the conversation thread.

Edit a message

  1. Select the Conversation icon and go to the conversation with the message you want to edit.

  2. Long-press on the message (Press and hold the message).

    A menu opens. The options available are dependent on the time that has elapsed since you sent the message.

  3. Select Edit.

  4. The text editor opens, with the original text.

  5. Enter text to update the original content or select from the style and formatting options in the text editor.

  6. Save your changes and resend the message with edits by tapping the green check icon.

    The message is marked as Edited in the conversation transcript.

Delete a message

You can recall or delete a message within a predefined period. This does not always mean that the message will be unread.

  1. Select the message, and hold for a few seconds (long-press).

    A menu appears.

  2. Select Delete.

  3. The message is removed from the conversation, but a note stating "This message has been deleted" appears and is visible to all.
