Sending messages
Communicate with members of your board or organization. You can start a new conversation, respond to an active conversation, or send notes or reminders to yourself.
Note

You will be prompted to choose the behavior of the Return key the first time you use Diligent Messenger. When using an external keyboard, you can set the Return key to either send the current message, or to create a new line. This setting can be updated in your settings at any time.

Messages can be created and read while you are offline, but cannot be sent until a network connection is established.
Send a message

Sign in to Diligent Messenger and select the conversations icon

Select the new conversation icon
.

Go to the With: input field and enter the name of the recipients.
A list appears.
Tip
-
Messenger iOS only accesses other Diligent Messenger users and cannot access your device's contact list.

You can choose individual users or a single group, but not both.

You can select your name, if you want to send a reminder or a note to yourself.

To add people to the conversation, select their name as they appear below this line.

To remove a recipient, select the X next to their name.

To enter your message go to the Type a message here field.

To tag a recipient in a message, enter the @ symbol and select from the list of contacts that appears.

To send the message, select the send icon
icon.
The message will be delivered and will appear in a chronological list.
Respond to an existing conversation

In Messenger iOS select the Conversations icon
.
A list Conversations of your conversations opens.

Select the conversation you want to respond to.

Enter your message and select the send icon
.
Your message is sent.
Message indicators and details

One tick indicates the message has been sent. A time-stamp appears when the message has been received.

Two ticks indicates a message has been read.
Tip
-
Select the ticks on a read message to see message details.

If you have sent a message to more than one recipient you can view who has read it.
