Annotations panels

The Annotations panel displays all the markups, comments, and notes in a book. This topic describes how to use the Annotations panel to easily navigate board books by going directly to the location of an annotation.

  1. Books containing annotations, both private and shared, display an Annotations icon on the bookshelf. Select the Annotations icon to open the annotations window.

  2. The annotations window displays the tabs and subtabs that contain annotations. The following icons indicate the type of annotation:

    : The book contains bookmarks.

     : The book contains pen and/or highlighter markups.

     : The book contains your private notes.

     : The book contains public or shared notes created by you.

     : The book contains public or shared notes created by another user.

     : The book contains a combination of notes created by yourself and others.

     : Icons with a speech bubble indicate that the book contains an unread note comment.

  3. Select an annotation to go to the corresponding page in the book.

  4. From the book view, you can select the annotations icon on top of the screen to open the Annotations panel.

  5. The Annotations panel displays a preview the notes and markups on each page. Select a note in the Annotations panel to go to the corresponding page in the book.

  6. To go to the page contining markups from a highlighter or pen, select the icon or page number in the Annotations panel.

  7. To check if any new notes or comments have been shared with you since your last update, swipe down on the Annotations panel with your finger until the loading circle appears.

  8. To turn off annotations, so they no longer appear on book pages, select the toggle next to "Show Annotations".
