Linking to current books, archived books, the Resource Center, and web pages

This topic describes how to create links to current books, archived books, the resource center, or to external web pages.

  1. While editing the book, select the Review Book tab.

  2. Navigate to the page that contains the text that you would like to create a link from.

  3. Select Link on the top right of the screen. This changes the cursor to a text selection tool.

  4. Use the text selector to highlight the text that you would like to create a link from.

  5. A Create Link option appears near your highlighted text. Select this option to continue.

  6. The Create Link dialog appears. You can view a list of documents in the current book on the Current Books tab.

  7. Find a document in the current book and select the page number to link to that page.

  8. Select Add Link.

  9. To link to a document in an archived book, select the Archived Books tab.

  10. Select a committee name.

  11. Select a book.

  12. Select the page number to link to that page in the archived book.

  13. Select Add Link.

  14. To link to a document in the Resource Center, select the Resource Center tab.

  15. Select the folder and the document.

  16. Select the page number to link to that page in the Resource Center document.

  17. Select Add Link.

  18. To link to a web page, select the Web Page tab.

  19. Type or paste the URL that leads to the web page.

  20. Select Add Link.

    Note

    When you enter the URL, it must include a protocol, such as http: or https:, before the web address. Also, the URL cannot exceed 2,048 characters.

  21. Your linked text will now appear underlined and in blue. To follow the link, select the linked text, and then select Open Link.

  22. To delete a link, select it, then select Remove.
