Changing a user's password

You can update a user's password to reset their sign-in credentials upon request, or in compliance with your organization's security and password policies. This topic explains how to change a user's password.

  1. Select Site Management on the main Navigation panel.

  2. On the User management page, select the Manage users tab.

  3. To update a contact's password, select the More options icon for that user, and then select Change password. The user's entry will expand.

    Note

If the user uses Boards with multiple organizations, you may not have the option to change their password. If this is the case, contact Diligent Global Support for assistance.

  4. Type the user's new password in the User's new password field.

  5. Re-type the user's new password in the Confirm new password field.

  6. To require the user to reset their password after they sign in with the new one, you can select the checkbox next to Require password reset after initial sign in.

    Note

If a checkbox is displayed next to Require password reset after initial sign in and you cannot clear it, the user will automatically need to reset their password after they sign in with the one you created. Contact your Customer Success Manager for assistance.

  7. To save your changes, select Update. You will need to let the user know that you've changed their password; send them their new password via a secure channel like Diligent Messenger or email, separated from their other sign-in credentials such as their username.
