You can use Direct Link on desktop computers with ACL Analytics, or on a server with Analytics Exchange.
Caution
You should only attempt to complete installation or configuration tasks if you have the appropriate role and security rights.
Installing and configuring Direct Link requires users in the following roles, with associated security rights:
Role | Security rights |
---|---|
Desktop or Network Administrator | Administrator rights to the computer where the Direct Link client
will be installed. This may be an end user who belongs to the Administrators group on the computer, or a network administrator. |
SAP Security Administrator | Administrator rights on the SAP system to configure security authorizations for Direct Link users. |
SAP Basis Administrator | Administrator rights to install the Direct Link add-on on the SAP system. |
The following tasks must be completed to install Direct Link. Some of the tasks must be completed in a specific order:
