Edit and manage waterfall steps

You can edit, reorder, or delete a waterfall step. View your steps on the Waterfall page in the Step by step view.

Edit a waterfall step

  1. In the Waterfall page of your cap table, select Customize.

  2. Go to the step, select the more options icon and select Edit step.

    The Edit step wizard opens.

  3. Edit the steps as required.

  4. Select Close.

Reorder a waterfall step

Reordering steps in your waterfall may result in a waterfall definition where the thresholds are out of order, leading to negative incremental distributions. To mitigate any impact, the system will alert you when negative increments are detected.

Diligent Equity recalculates all thresholds based on the new order. A warning appears if a negative increment is detected where a step is out of sync, although it won't prevent the move. The warning disappears when the step is in the right place.

  1. Go to the step and select the more options icon .

  2. Select Reorder to move the step.

    Four options appear.

    • Move to top Moves the step to the top of the distribution steps.

    • Move up Moves the step up one.

    • Move down Moves the step down one.

    • Move to bottom Moves the step to the bottom before the residual step.

Delete a waterfall step

  1. Go to the step and select the more options icon .

  2. Select Delete from the menu.

    A warning message appears.

  3. Select Yes.

    The step is permanently deleted.
