Mobile devices

System administrators can authorize users in System Settings to access BoardEffect on their mobile devices.

  1. On the BoardEffect home page, on the left-side Navigation Bar, select Site Settings .

  2. Select Mobile Devices from the list of settings options. The Connections dialog opens with a list of authorized and pending users, the type of device used for mobile connection, the app version on the device, and so on.

  3. T o authorize a mobile device for a user, select Authorize on the far right of a user's row in Pending Authorization.

  4. To set general mobile-security settings for your organization, select Advanced in the top right of the dialog.

  5. Select the relevant checkbox from the following options:

    • Only administrators can authorize mobile device connections for users not using Single Sign-On: Users are not allowed to authorize their own mobile device connections. Single Sign-On users will be prompted to enter their credentials each time they log in.

    • Enable Biometric Support: Allow users to unlock the BoardEffect encryption key with a Touch ID or Face ID.

    • Notify administrators when a device authorization request has been submitted.

    • Enable Android app access: Allow users to authorize connections using the BoardEffect Android app.

    • Enforce Minimum iOS Version: By default, there is No Version Requirement, which means that all versions of iOS that run BoardEffect are supported. If you wish to change the settings here, contact BoardEffect Support.

    • Disable mobile device connections on phone application.

    • Mobile Inactivity Timeout: Restrict the amount of time a user can be inactive, before they are automatically signed out of BoardEffect.

  6. To save your changes, select Save. Alternatively, to discard your changes, select Cancel.
