Participate in Workroom Discussions
In workrooms, if invited, you can respond to a discussion or add a new topic to a discussion. A preview of the discussions to which you have been invited also displays in the My Discussions section of the BoardEffect home page.
Note
System administrators activate the Discussions option in Workroom Settings and the members' user profile.
Respond to a discussion

Select the relevant Workroom on the Navigation Bar, and then select the Collaborate tab . Next, select the Discussions collaboration tool.

The discussions are organized on the following tabs: Open Discussions, Upcoming Discussions, and Closed Discussions. Select the name of relevant topic to view more details.
- Once the topic is open you can post a response. Topics are conversation threads that are part of the main discussion. To add a response, select +New Reply. A reply dialog displays.

Enter your response in the Body section.

To add an attachment to your response, select Browse. You can now upload a document from your computer.

Select Save to finish adding the file.
Add a new topic

To add a new topic to the discussion, select +New Topic. A new topic dialog displays.

Enter a description in the required fields, including the topic Title and Body.

To save the topic, select Submit. The topic now displays in Discussions on the workroom Collaborate tab . To open the topic, select the topic title.
Note
Members can see the number of replies associated with each topic.

To attach a file to a topic, select the Attachment list tab on the topic page.

Select Attach File. The Add file to topic dialog displays.

Select Upload File to upload a file from your computer. Alternatively, select Resources to upload a file from the Resource Library in BoardEffect.

In Title, enter a title for the attachment.

Select Save to upload the attachment. The attachment now displays in Attachment List.
