Adding links
Use links to access materials in other books on the Bookshelf or external web pages. Direct links help directors find information, without requiring you to manually add the files from one book to another. Links to external web pages helps to cross-reference information from multiple sources and provides more flexibility when building the book.
Link to other books in the Bookshelf
Add links to go to other books in the Bookshelf. You can link to current books or archived books.

From the Launchpad home page (www.diligentoneplatform.com), select the Boards app to open it.
If you are already in Diligent One, you can use the left-hand navigation menu to switch to the Boards app.
You are taken to the Bookshelf.

Navigate the Bookshelf or use the Search, Sort by, or Filter options to find the book you want to link from.

Select Edit on the book's row.
You are taken to the Build book tab.

Select the Review book tab.
You are taken to the page view.

Select a file from the Navigation panel on the left side of the screen.

Move the mouse over the file.
This changes the cursor to a text selection tool.

Use the text selection tool to highlight the text that you would like to create a link from.
A Create link option appears near the highlighted text.

Select Create link.
The Create link panel appears. Choose from the following options:
Tab name Description Current books A list of current books available on the Bookshelf Archived books A list of archived books available on the Bookshelf Web page A URL to an external web site -
Select either the Current books tab or Archived books tab.

Select the book you want to link to.

Select a file name.
A preview of the file appears.

Select Add link.
You return to the page view.

The linked text now appears underlined and in blue.
Select the linked text to follow the link.
Link to external web pages
Add links to go to an external website. You need the URL of the web page to create the link in the book.
- From the page view, you can select a file in the Navigation panel to open it.

Move your mouse over the file.
This changes the cursor to a text selection tool.

Use the text selector to highlight the text that you would like to create a link from.
A Create link option appears near your highlighted text.

Select Create link.
The Create link panel appears.

Select the Web page tab.

Type or paste the URL that leads to an external web page in the Web page URL field.

Select Add link.
You return to the page view.

The linked text now appears underlined and in blue.
Select the linked text to follow the link.
