Grant Consent to Act on Behalf of Corporate Signatory
If forms that are to be filed electronically to the Companies Registration Office (CRO) are signed by a corporate body, an individual who has been granted the consent to act on behalf of the corporate body must be selected before generating and e-filing the form.
A declaration of the consent to act can be achieved by adding a signing authority data library to the corporate body's record.
Before you start
Make sure the individual you want to grant consent to already has a record in the system. Refer to Create an individual to learn more.
-
Open the required entity record.
You can create the corporate body as a company or an other entity in the system. Refer to Create a company and Create an other entity for more information on how to create such entities.
-
Select Data Library and then New.
The New: Item page displays.
-
Select Signing Authority for Type.
The page updates to display the related signing authority fields.
-
Complete the Pending section.
Use the fields to determine whether creation of the data library record is to be saved as a pending event or it is to be actioned immediately upon saving by selecting one of the available Action options.
-
In the Summary section, ensure that Signing Authority is selected and leave the rest of the fields blank.
-
Use the wand for Other Connected Entities to open the wizard where you can select the individual with authority to act on behalf of the entity.
Note
The individual must already have a record in Diligent Entities containing a valid email address and contact details.
The selected now displays in the Other Connected Entities section.
-
In the Signing Authority section, select Consent to Act for Type and use the Notes to add any relevant information.
Leave the Event Date and Date of Cessation fields blank.
-
Select Save and then close the record.
The selected individual can now sign on behalf of the entity.
