Navigating modernized Entities
Many pages in the modernized Entities app share a set of common navigation features designed to help you quickly find and organize the information you need. Learn about these features and how they provide a consistent, efficient way to explore and manage content across the app.
Columns
The Columns filter gives you control over which fields appear in your table and how they’re arranged. You can show or hide specific columns, search for column names, select or clear multiple columns at once, and reorder columns to match your preferred layout. The following options explain how to customize your view using the Columns filter:
-
Show or hide columns such as Nationality, Date of birth, Title, Salutations, and more.
-
Use the search field to find specific columns.
-
Use the checkbox next to the search field to select or clear all columns and apply changes together.
-
Reorder columns by selecting the
icon next to a column and dragging it to a new position in the list. -
Select Columns again to close the filter.
Note
The columns with an inactive checkbox are always displayed.
Sorting or ordering table columns
The modernized Entities app provides flexible sorting tools that help you organize table data the way you need. You can sort by a single column or create a multicolumn sort to refine the order of your results. You can also reset sorting at any time, combine sorting with filters, and rely on the app to remember your preferences. The following sections explain how each sorting option works and how to use them efficiently.
Sort by single column
-
Select a column header to cycle through three states:
-
First selection Sorts in ascending order and displays an up
arrow. -
Second selection Sorts descending order and displays a down
arrow. -
Third selection Clears the sort and hides the arrow.
-
-
When the sort changes, the list refreshes, and the first page of results is displayed.
Sort by multiple columns
-
To add another column to the current sort, press and hold Shift, then select the column header.
-
Sort appears as numbers next to each sorted column (1 for primary, 2 for secondary, and so on), followed by the arrow that indicates the direction of the sort.
-
Shift+ select a sorted column to toggle its direction without changing its priority. Shift + select a primary column again (when it’s descending) to remove it from the multicolumn sort.
-
Selecting a column without using Shift replaces the multicolumn sort with a new single column sort.
-
When the sort changes, the list returns to the first page of results.
Reset sorting
-
Single column To clear sorting on a column, select its header until the arrow no longer appears.
-
Multiple columns To clear all sorting, open the kebab menu on any column header and select Reset columns.
Filtering and hidden columns
-
Sorting and filtering can be used together. Changing sorting on a filtered list preserves the record count and reorders the filtered results. Changing filters preserves your current sorting.
-
If the first priority sorted column is hidden, sorting automatically continues with the next column in the sequence.
Retain sort preferences
The page saves your sorting order. If you close the page or open a different page, the previously selected sort order is restored when you return.
