Pending Event wizard validations
Validations exist across a range of Pending Event wizards to ensure that required information is provided before a user can continue with, or complete, an event.
Empty mandatory fields will be highlighted if the user attempts to bypass required data entry in a Pending Event wizard. Progression through wizards will be prevented if the user attempts to skip any stage containing a mandatory field.
Mandatory fields are identified by a red asterisk located on the left-hand side of the field.
If a user selects a mandatory field, then outside of it without entering the necessary data, the field will be highlighted with a red box.
An empty mandatory field will automatically cause the Next button to be greyed out, preventing progress to the next wizard.
Once the required detail is entered into the mandatory field:
The red box is removed from the field.
The Next button is no longer greyed out, allowing the progress through the wizard.
Enable Wizard Validations
Wizard validations are enabled by default.
To remove the forced validation of mandatory fields, the option will need to be disabled in System Tools.
To locate and disable the option:
Navigate to: System Tools > Systems Options
- Select the tab.
The System Options Miscellaneous Options screen displays.
- Deselect the Ensure mandatory fields are entered on Pending Events (where applied)?
- Select Finish.
The System Options wizard closes.
The validations are disabled wherever mandatory field are applied across the system.
Hovering over the information icon explains how the validations will be applied throughout the system.
Applicable System Areas
The new Pending Event validations have been applied in the following system locations:
System Area | System Area |
---|---|
Allot Shares (single/batch) | Pending Confirm page |
All QuickRef fields (for example, New ListMan pages or New Company Wizard) | Remove Appointment |
Appoint (single/batch) | Replace Appointment |
Confirmation Statement Wizard | Resign (single/batch) |
Consent to Act | Share Allotment (single/batch) |
Contact page: Name & Email fields | Share Disposal (buy back, redemption and other) |
Death/Dissolve Appointment | Share Transfer (single/batch) |
New Share Class | Subdivision/Consolidation |
Opening Balance Shares (single/batch) |
Contact Details
All users must have name and email contact details recorded in the system. Absence of information in either field will be highlighted by the wizard.
QuickRefs
QuickRef fields will be highlighted by the wizard when use of an invalid character is detected, not the absence of detail.
Batch Event Date
When using the Batch Event wizard, if no date is initially entered into the Event Date field, a user will not be prevented from progressing through the wizard (the Next button will remain available).
Completion of the batch process will be prevented however, if no Event Date is provided for each Individual selected.
To complete the batch process, open each Individual record and enter the required Event Date.
Consent to Act
The Consent to act given for appointment(s) option is only required when appointing to a UK entity. It is not required when appointments are made to non-UK entities.
An optional job title for an appointment can be selected from the Job Title dropdown menu provided.
However, if no checkbox is selected to select one of the positions listed in the Position field beneath, the Consent to act given for appointment(s) option will not display.
The option will only display only once the related checkbox for a position has been selected.
The Consent to act given for appointment(s) option is a mandatory field. The Next button will be greyed out and completion of the process will be prevented until the checkbox is selected.
Confirmation Statement
The new validation system has also been applied to the Confirmation Statement wizard.
