Configuring Mufti-Factor Authentication

Mufti-Factor Authentication (MFA) adds an additional layer of security to your account by requiring a second form of verification beyond your password. You should configure MFA to protect sensitive data and prevent unauthorized access to your account, even if your password is compromised. Enabling MFA ensures compliance with security policies and significantly reduces the risk of security breaches, protecting both your personal information and organizational assets. This guide details the steps to enable Mufti-Factor Authentication (MFA) within your system.

Follow the instructions mentioned below to configure MFA for users using Short Message Service (SMS), Voice or Time based one time password (TOTP) authentication modes.

  1. As a System Admin log in to your account using your username and password.
  2. Select the Settings icon and select Manage Setting.
  3. Select Application Settings.
  4. In the Configure Multi Factor Auth section, enable the Enable MFA for Company Users checkbox.
  5. Select Save.
  6. Additionally, you can decide whether users must use the authenticator every time they log in into their system.

  7. Go to User Management and enable the MFA checkbox against the names of the desired users. Two factor authenticator (TFA) mode is now activated.

On their next log in, selected users will be prompted to configure one of the available MFA factors before gaining access to the system:

    • Mobile device: This option uses an SMS or voice code. Enter your mobile phone number and select Send code, then enter the verification code you receive by text message.

    • TOTP authentication: This option consists of phone call code that enable users to choose a TOTP-compatible application, then enter the generated code to finalize their MFA configuration.

  8. If the MFA checkbox is not enabled, you can manually configure MFA.

  9. Select the user icon and then select Configure MFA.

  10. Select any of the MFA factors mentioned in step 6.

  11. Select Confirm MFA choice to finalize the MFA configuration.

After MFA is configured, you’ll be asked to provide a second form of verification each time you sign in.This ensures that only authorized users can access your account, providing enhanced security.
