Attaching files and adding comments
Attach additional documentation to a request, or add a comment to initiate conversations or provide further explanations, where required.
How it works
Anyone with access to a specific request item can attach files to the request or comment on it. Other users can choose to either continue the discussion by attaching additional files or posting additional comments, or close the request.
Permissions
Professional Managers, Professional Users, Oversight Executives, can comment on requests and attach files using the Request Tracking List page and Task Tracker.
Anyone that has been assigned a request or CC'ed on a request can add comments and attach files using the Details page, which is accessible from the request link in the email notification. However, the people assigned a request or CC'ed on a request are restricted from updating and deleting files, and viewing file version history.
Comment and/or add files to a request
- Click the appropriate description link under the Description column.
- From the Details page, under Attachments and Comments, do the following:
Note
For security reasons, Diligent One does not accept file attachments with the following extensions: .bat, .com, .dmg, .exe, or .scr.
Notifications
When you add an attachment or comment to a request, other people are notified via email and via the Projects app.
Email notifications
When a request is updated with a new attachment or comment, an email notification is sent to the request owner, requester, and additional CC'ed persons. The person who posted the new comment or attached a file does not receive an email notification.
