Formatting chart colors

In the Reports app, you can format colors in a chart using Series settings, or a combination of Series and Conditional Formatting settings. The configuration options available depends on your chart type.

Permissions

Only Report Admins and Report Writers can format charts.

Define colors for all series in the chart

1. Open the Reports app.

   The Browse page opens.

2. Open the appropriate report and click Edit > Charts.
3. Click on the thumbnail of the appropriate chart at the bottom of the screen.

   The chart displays in the preview window.

4. In the chart formatting toolbar, click Series .

   The Series Settings dialog box opens.

5. Select the appropriate field under Series on the left side, and adjust any style settings for the series.
6. Select the appropriate field under Color on the left side, and define the color set and bounds to be applied to the series.
7. Adjust any additional settings, as desired.
8. Click to close the Series Settings dialog box.

   Your changes are saved. The default colors are applied to your chart.

Define chart colors using conditional formatting

1. Open the Reports app.

   The Browse page opens.

2. Open the appropriate report, and complete one of the following tasks:

   Task	Example	Detailed information
   Apply a basic condition to format colors in a chart	If Severity = High then highlight Issue Title as Red	Conditionally formatting columns in reports
   Apply an advanced condition to format colors in a chart	If Severity = High and Cost Impact > $500,000 then highlight Issue Title as Red

3. In the report, click the Charts tab.
4. Click on the thumbnail of the appropriate chart at the bottom of the screen.

   The chart displays in the preview window.

5. In the chart formatting toolbar, click Series .

   The Series Settings dialog box opens.

6. Select the field that you applied conditional formatting to under Color on the left side, and turn on the Conditional Format option.
7. Click to close the Series Settings dialog box.

   Your changes are saved. The colors that you defined in your report are now displayed in your chart.
