Uninstalling an on-premise Robots Agent
You can uninstall the Robots Agent from the server where it is located. If your organization uses a single Robots Agent, scheduled tasks in ACL robots stop running after the Robots Agent is uninstalled.
Note
The information in this topic applies only to organizations that use an on-premise Robots Agent to run ACL scripts in ACL robots.
Individuals and organizations with ACL Robotics Professional Edition do not have an on-premise Robots Agent. Python/HCL scripts that run in HighBond robots or Workflow robots do not use the Robots Agent.
General information
Uninstalling the Robots Agent removes the entire application directory. The default location is C:\Program Files (x86)\ACL Software\Robots Agent\
Uninstalling has no effect on the data folder on the server containing existing task data and application logs. If you reinstall a Robots Agent, it can continue to use the same data folder. The default location for the data folder is C:\acl\robots
You must have local Administrator permissions on the Windows server to complete the uninstallation process.
Important
Save a backup copy of the Robots Agent registration keyfile before running the uninstallation process. The keyfile is located in the installation_directory\agent folder by default.
This uninstallation process requires a restart of the server. Save any work and close all other programs before beginning the process.
