Getting started with Task Manager
To complete a task in the Task Manager app, the following steps must first be completed in the Projects or Risk Manager app:
-
A team member must define the relevant risks and associated controls.
-
Tasks must be created and assigned to you.
The assigned tasks appear in the Task Manager > My Activities view for you to complete.
Working with activities
On each card, you can be assigned one of the following activities:
- Walkthrough Assess whether a control is designed effectively. Control walkthrough cards are assigned to you in Task Manager if you are the control owner or a reviewer. Use this card to document the results of the control walkthrough.
- Questionnaire Complete a set of questions that form a single questionnaire. This card allows you to fill out the questionnaire.
- Test plan Sign off on test plans and assign them to another user. The Test Plan outlines the specific steps or actions for testing a control, but it is not a task. If you are designated as a control owner or reviewer, you will receive Test Plan cards in the Task Manager section.
- Testing Test whether a control is operating effectively. Control Testing cards are assigned to you in Task Manager if you are a control owner (assigned to a testing round) or a test reviewer. You can complete the control test using the Testing card.
- Assess a risk Evaluate risk factors that impact the achievement of objectives. If you are the assigned risk owner, you can score a risk by choosing the relevant scoring factors in Task Manager > My Activities.
- Action Monitor and manage action items related to identified issues. Action cards appear in Task Manager for actions you have created, been assigned to, or been CC'd on.
- Request Request or deliver documentation for audit-related queries. Request cards appear in Task Manager for actions you have created, been assigned to, or been CC'd on.
The second section on the left menu, Risk and Control Matrix, allows you to sort and filter risks and controls you have access to and that were assigned to you in Projects.
Caution
If you disable sign-off configuration settings in Project's project type settings, the control items (Walkthrough, Test plan, Testing) will not appear in the Task Manager app.
- Walkthrough tab > Sign-off configuration > Walkthrough Results
- Test Plan tab > Sign-off configuration > Test Plan detail
- Testing > Sign-off configuration > Testing Round detail
Do not disable this sign-off level if you will use the Task Manager app.
