User Defined Labels

All field names can be changed using User Defined Labels.

This is useful if you do not use a particular field, but want to use it to record other information, for example, File Reference. If you do not use this to record references of manual files, it could be used to record other important Company information.

To change a System Defined Field name, navigate to:

  • System Tools > User Defined Labels.
  • Select the appropriate language in which the field whose name you want to amend is.
  • Select the context of the field name, for example, whether it is a 'General' field or a 'Group Structure' field. Leave the context blank to retrieve a full list of all the system fields.
  • Enter what the field name begins with if necessary and then use the Search icon to retrieve the fields.
  • Use the Wand icon next to the field in question to amend its name.
  • Select a country if you only want to change this field name for Companies incorporated in certain countries. Leave blank to change it for entities in all countries.
  • Enter the new name in the Changed to field and select Finish.
  • The system field will now be changed to a User Defined Field.
  • To view a list of all amended field names, navigate to User Defined Labels.
  • Select User Defined and select the Search icon.
  • Select the X icon if you want to revert back to the system field name.
