Configuration: Issue Override
An Issue Override allows a user to suppress notifications of any issues that may arise as the result of a file being processed.
When a Batch is created, it is checked for any issues or errors. All issues are captured in an Import Report as part of an Issue Log. Each Issue Type uses a specific code to reference any errors. To ensure that certain issues do not display in the Import Report when a Batch is created, their unique code can be entered as an Override code.
As a Batch is processed, Issue Override checks for any Override codes and those Issue Types related to each code are prevented (suppressed) from displaying in the Import Report. An Override code can be entered for a specific field or for a type of field.
For example, in the Issue Log below, an error is being generated for UDF Not Found. The user is aware of the issue and would like to suppress this notification, allowing the file to be processed without any information or Issue Log updates relating to this error.
Updating the Issue Override fields will flag the issue containing the designated Issue Code. Each time the Override is used, the sum total of overrides applied (Total Overrides) will update to indicate that an issue was encountered.
Create an Override code
To create an Override code:
- Navigate to: System Tools > Data Exchange Manager > Configuration (link).
The Configuration screen displays.
- Locate the Issue Override section and select Open.
All existing Override codes are listed.
Note
Override codes can be created for single Entities or, if no entity is selected, the override will apply to all entities contained within the file being processed.
- Select New.
The New: DXM Issue Override screen displays.
- Select the Wand button to open the Entity Search Wizard and select the entity to which the Override Code will apply.
- With the entity selected, close the wizard and enter the Date, Reminder, and Summary detail (if required) into the Summary fields.
- Select Save.
- Navigate to the Issue Log and locate the issue error to be overridden to retrieve the Issue Code and Issue Text.
- Navigate back to the list of existing Issue Override Codes and open the new Override Code entry (previously created).
- Enter the retrieved Issue Code and Issue Text into their respective fields at the bottom of the screen.
- Select Save.
The new Issue Override Code is updated with Issue Code and Issue Text information.
The override code count is updated.
When the file is added to the batch for processing and checked for issues/errors:
- The UDF Not Found error is no longer flagged.
- The UDF Not Found error is suppressed from displaying in the Issue Log.
- The Audit Trail lists an entry that states that an Override code was in place for this particular file.
