Settings and Configuration

General Configuration and Settings provides users with the ability to enable optional features within SMCR Solution.

Access the Settings Page

To access the Settings page:

  • Navigate to: System Tools > SMCR Solution.

The SMCR Home Page displays.

  • Select the Configuration link.

The Configuration screen displays.

  • Select the Settings link.

Enable Features

Within the Settings page, optional features can be turned on, enabling them.

If features are not activated, the related tabs will not display and the functions remain unavailable. Once activated, information related to the feature will become visible. This includes any tabs, workflow requests, reviews related to the feature, or information that is related to the individual.

These features are set by default to Off.

Within the General Configuration, some of these features include:

  • Certification
  • Onboarding
  • Acceptance/Handover
  • Job Description

Standard Roles

To assist with standard user assignments, users can be assigned to roles for workflow functions. User Roles are assigned within Settings as part of the SMCR Configuration.

Once these users are assigned, they are considered as the default user for these roles. When the workflow calls for one of these specifically defined roles, it is these default users that will populate the workflow.

For example, when a new employee is being Onboarded, the record is sent to Human Resources for approval. An individual can be designated as the Human Resources role, to ensure that the request for approval is sent directly to them.

There is a verification when the default user is being established, to ensure that only users with an email address can be selected.

Conduct Rules

Certification and Mapping information can be used as the basis to automatically create the Conduct Rules role assignment. This process will assign a Conduct Rules review to Senior Managers or a Certified Person based on information already provided.

A summary of the changes, including new records added to the Conduct Rules Review, can then be sent to a designated email recipient.

Email Information

Emails that are generated can be set up with default information.
