Viewing a document's history

The system keeps a record of every document change, who made the change, and the date and time of the change. You can also compare documents.

The system automatically tracks document versions and revisions:

  • Version: A document version includes all revisions made up to when the document is published. When a review cycle is launched, a new version is assigned by the system. For example, Version 2.0.

  • Revision: A document revision is a snapshot of the document at the point it was saved, for example, Revision 2.0.29 is the 29th revision to version 2.0.

Steps to view document history:

  1. Access the document. See Finding and managing documents .

  2. From the document, select the History Viewer tab.
