Edit files with Microsoft 365

Use Microsoft 365 web applications to edit your personal files saved in your Secure File Sharing data room.

If your permissions allow you can use it to edit documents that have been shared with you or by you.

You can also use it to securely collaborate with others in real time, on files saved to Team data rooms. You will be able to see the changes made to a file and who is making those changes while using O365 online.

Note

To use this feature, it must be activated for the organization and users must have a Microsoft 365 subscription.

This feature is available for the file formats DOCX, XLSX, and PPTX.

  • Open Word for the web for DOCX files

  • Open Excel for the web for XLSX files

  • Open PowerPoint for the web for PPTX files

  1. In the Data room select the file's more options icon or right-click your mouse when hovering over the file to open a menu.

  2. Select Open <file format> for the web.

The file opens in a new tab on your browser where you can edit, annotate, and comment on the file. All changes are saved automatically as you work.

    Tip

When working on a file in a team room you can see who else is working on that file. Their initials are displayed on the section they are working on and a profile icon appears on the toolbar. Changes made appear in real time.

  3. Close the browser when you are finished editing to return you to your Secure File Sharing page.
