Adding administrators using AX Server Configuration
In order to start using ACL Analytics Exchange, you need to create an initial AX Server administrator by adding their Windows user account in the AX Server Configuration web application. Once you have installed AX Client, this ACL Analytics Exchange administrator can add additional users and assign them the appropriate roles.
You may encounter a certificate error message when you attempt to access the AX Server Configuration web page. The message is displayed because you are using HTTPS to connect to a web server that does not have security certificates configured. Click the Continue to this website link to continue to the AX Server Configuration web page. For more information, see Installing self-signed security certificates in Internet Explorer.
To add an initial AX Server administrator:
- Open the AX Server Configuration web
application in your web browser and log in. Use the same username
and password that you use to log in to the Geronimo Console.
The default location is https://<server_name>/aclconfig, where <server_name> is the hostname or IP address of your AX Server. For example: https://axserver.acl.com/aclconfig. The default port value is 443. If the server has been upgraded from a previous version of AX Server, the port value is 8443.
- Locate the Add AX administrator text
box, and enter the name of the user account to add.
You need to specify the Windows user account in one of the following ways:
-
If the user account belongs to the default Active Directory domain for your ACL Analytics Exchange implementation, you can enter the username without specifying the domain.
The default domain for AX Server is specified in the Default Active Directory domain field.
-
If the user account does not belong to the default Active Directory domain, you need to specify the domain and the username using the following format: Domain\username
-
If the user account is a local Windows user account on the server where AX Server is installed, you need to specify the computer name and username using the following format: ComputerName\UserName
-
- Click Add.
- Log out from the AX Server Configuration web application.
