Copying an archived book

You can copy an archived book to quickly create a new book based on the properties, structure, and content of the archived one. This topic describes how to restore an archived book, copy it, and then return the book to the archives.

  1. Select Archived Books on the left-hand Navigation menu.

  2. To restore an archived book to a current status, select the More options icon on the right side of the book's row.

  3. Select Restore to hidden. The book will be restored to the Current Books hub as a hidden (unpublished) book.

    Note

Restored archived books are always set to a hidden status, regardless of whether they were published when archived. If a restored book needs to be visible to directors, it must be published again after restoration.

  4. To view the book, select Current Books.

  5. To copy the book, select the More options icon on the right side of the book's row, and select Copy book.

  6. The Copy book window appears. Most options here are identical to those in the Create book window, and can be edited as needed, including the Book title.

  7. To copy the book in its entirety, including all documents, select the Include contents option.

  8. Select Continue.

  9. The Book permissions screen appears, with meeting group and user view permissions copied from the archived book. You can update these permissions for the new book as necessary.

  10. Select Finish to complete the copying process.

  11. To return a book to the archives, so it no longer appears in the Current Books hub, select the book menu, and then select Archive
